BMBF Borophosphates as heterogenous catalysts

Third-Party Funding, External Projects

BMBF Borophosphates as heterogeneous catalysts

In connection with the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) focal point of support “Innovative technologies for resource efficiency – resource intensive production processes” the project “Resource efficient alkane selective oxidation at new crystalline solid phases” (033R028 ReAlSelOx) is a cooperation between BASF SE (BASF - The Chemical Company, Societas Europaea), hte AG (the high throughput experimentation company, Aktiengesellschaft), FHI (Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society), the University of Bonn, and MPI CPfS.

MPI CPfS puts in the group of  Borophosphates. Selected crystalline Borophosphates will be studied with respect to their potential towards the development of a new generation of heterogeneous catalysts in selective, single-step oxidative functionalization of short-chain alkanes.

Compared to the state of the art, the project strives for a significant improvement of the reaction conditions for alkane oxidation by using new heterogeneous catalysts.
