NbSe2

NbSe2 is a type II superconductor. Below 33 K, the charge density waves can be observed (every third row of atoms appears bright).

area: 12 × 12 nm2,
temperature about 385 mK,
zero applied field

This image (area: 18 × 5 nm2) was taken at an applied field of
  μ0H = 2 T
  T = 385 mK.
The flux results in a vortex lattice, i.e., superconducting and normal regions coexist.
This coexistance can be seen in the two spectroscopic curves taken within the superconducting region and at the center of a vortex, respectively.
