  • Calculation of the electronic structure of solids within the Density Functional Theory

  • Model Hamiltonians for structural and magnetic properties of solids

  • Development of a module of the FPLO code for optical spectra

  • Quantum molecular dynamics calculations (SIESTA)

  • LDA+U method for studying the electronic and magnetic properties of antiperovskites containing rare earth metals

  • Electron correlation effects in low-dimensional magnetic materials, especially cuprates

  • Superconductivity in CaSi2 and related compounds
